The British Columbia Water & Wastewater Association (BCWWA) in Canada has recognized AECOM with its 2015 “Outstanding Contribution to the BCWWA: Group or Organization” Award.

The award, which is given for significant corporate or collective contributions to the success of the BCWWA, was presented at the association’s annual conference, held this year in Kelowna.

Four AECOM employees are currently supporting BCWWA’s work, taking key leadership roles in the association.

  • David Main, senior manager and BCWWA president
  • Wayne Wong, senior engineer and chair of the BCWWA Wastewater Management Committee
  • Michael Celli, project engineer and chair of the BCWWA Young Professional Committee
  • Chris O’Donnell, project engineer and advisor to the BCWWA Student Design Competition

Under O’Donnell’s guidance, BCWWA’s team has won the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference Student Design competition in back-to-back years, where it has competed against the top teams from other North American chapters.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition,” said David Main, AECOM’s senior manager, water, design construction services, Americas. “The contributions of AECOM volunteer members in BCWWA play an important role in advancing professional excellence in our industry in British Columbia.”

BCWWA is a not-for-profit organization representing more than 4,700 water professionals who are responsible for ensuring safe, sustainable and secure water, sewer and stormwater systems in British Columbia and the Yukon. It has affiliations with both the American Water and Wastewater Association and the Water Environment Federation.
