ROSTOCK, December 30, 2015 /3BL Media/ - For 10 years AIDA Cruises has supported the work of SOS Children’s Villages with donations from the proceeds of the raffle which is traditionally held on December 31 on board the AIDA fleet. This year the money raised will again benefit the SOS aid project in Iloilo in the Philippines as well as the SOS Children’s Villages organization in Germany.

“With the proceeds from the traditional New Year’s raffle on board the ships, AIDA has been supporting children’s aid projects all over the world for many years. This year we are again pleased about everyone who purchases a ticket and together with AIDA takes responsibility for children who urgently need our support,” says Monika Griefahn, Chief Sustainability Officer at AIDA Cruises. As prizes for the raffle, AIDA Cruises donates a total of 20 cruises and many valuable material prizes.

Supporting charitable projects is an important piece of the AIDA corporate culture and a matter that AIDA takes to heart. As a long-term partner, AIDA promotes numerous social and cultural institutions and maritime organizations, also sponsors sports, and since 2002 has been the main sponsor of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, one of the largest classical music festivals in Germany.
