AMWAY: Giving Tuesday and #Powerof5

In recent days you’ve heard all about Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

But we want to highlight another significant day: Giving Tuesday. Founded in 2012 through a partnership between the 92nd Street Y in New York City and the United Nations Foundation, Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to generosity and giving back.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate that effort than through our Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign, which is battling global childhood malnutrition through the distribution of Little Bits, a micronutrient supplement that helps children survive and thrive during their critical first five years of life.

Through partnerships with CARE and other nonprofit organizations, Nutrilite Little Bits is being distributed through existing nutrition programs in Brazil, Dominican Republic, Panama, Guatemala, Mexico and Zambia. The goal is to expand to at least 15 countries by 2016.

Amway already has been donating $1 for every handprint we collect for a collage in support of the campaign. We also have been accepting public donations at powerof5.nutrilite.com. But for Giving Tuesday we are making it even easier to get involved: You can simply text to donate.

Send the word “feed” to 91999 and you will be able to contribute to the Power of 5 Campaign. That’s enough to provide Little Bits to one child for an entire month. Even better: Amway will match each $10 Giving Tuesday donation up to $10,000.

Chances are your phone is either in your hand right now or within reach. So go ahead, get involved! And when you do, spread the word with the hashtags #GivingTuesday and #powerof5. Thanks!
