Accenture and the Accenture Foundation have awarded a grant of $1.8 million to Save the Children to help that organization provide business skills to 7,000 disadvantaged and at-risk young people, including 5,000 young women, in Egypt, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The grant brings Accenture’s direct support Save the Children to more than $2.5 million since 2010.

Barrick Gold Corporation and the Danish Institute for Human Rights have partnered to develop human rights tools for business. Under a two-year agreement, Barrick will support the launch and expansion of the DIHR’s Human Rights and Business Country Portal project, a Web site that features in-depth research on human rights conditions in specific countries to assist companies in addressing human rights risks.

The International Golf Federation has agreed to a policy that will make sustainability a core priority within the sport. The IGF, which includes members representing 150 countries, has adopted eight sustainability measures, and will also work to raise the profile of the sport’s contribution to environmental issues. The U.S. Golf Association has announced its support of the IGF’s policy statement.
