WASHINGTON, D.C., July 16, 2014 /3BL Media/ - PYXERA Global is proud to announce Achieving Triple Impact, an action-packed interactive workshop hosted by SAP, PYXERA Global, and, UPJ, in Berlin, Germany on September 25, 2014.  Achieving Triple Impact will bring together European corporations to explore how investment in global pro bono volunteering can enhance employee engagement, develop the next generation of leaders, and deliver social impact in local communities around the world.

With sessions conducted in both English and German, this event will empower participants to:

  • Initiate a program within their company.
  • Design a program that successfully aligns with corporate strategy and culture.
  • Identify key program priorities to grow a program from pilot to launch.
  • Measure the impact of pro bono on employee development.

SAP is an innovator in the practice of global pro bono volunteering in Europe. The company’s  program, called the Social Sabbatical, was launched in 2012 and has more than doubled in size with its most recent assignments. The Social Sabbatical is strengthening leadership skills of employees, while offering them an opportunity to support entrepreneurs in emerging economies.

“This kind of experiential learning is critical to building the next generation of business leaders who know how to operate across regions and cultures,” says Alicia Lenze, Head of Global CSR at SAP.  “Global pro bono programs like the Social Sabbatical allow employees to bring their values to work with them.  It teaches participants how to take risks with limited resources and fewer established business processes.”

Recent Social Sabbatical participant Jim Tubman spent one month in Nairobi, Kenya as part of the Social Sabbatical. Hear his story here: http://youtu.be/x8gipelDVwE.

Deirdre White, CEO of PYXERA Global, will provide the opening keynote address, providing context and perspective into the opportunity available to progressive corporations through global pro bono volunteering and purposeful global engagement.  “We are excited to see pro bono being amplified in European markets through events like Achieving Triple Impact,” noted White.  “In the case of all global pro bono programs, individuals and companies are engaging with the purpose of developing skills and leadership acumen, and gaining insights into new markets, but also with the purpose of driving social impact.”

In addition to Deirdre White and representatives of the SAP Social Sabbatical program, the workshop will also feature the perspectives of past participants in global pro bono programs at IBM, Deere & Company, Merck, and Celanese who will share insights on how pro bono affected them both professionally and personally.  Helle Dochedahl, an SAP Executive who heads pre-sales in Europe, participated in the Social Sabbatical in India, and will provide the closing keynote address.

The agenda will also include experts on pro bono, volunteerism, and CSR in various contexts, including Clarissa O’Callaghan, Global Head of Pro Bono at Freshfields Bruckhaus and Deringer, Claudia Leissner of Pro Boneo, Reinhard Lang, CEO of UPJ among others. UPJ, a Berlin-based organization committed to creating new connections between businesses, civil society organizations, and public authorities within Germany and Europe, seeks to contribute to solve societal challenges and to shaping sustainable communities.

The workshop agenda is available in German or English. Register to attend Achieving Triple Impact here.
