NEW YORK,  July 14, 2015 /3BL Media/ - The Action Team national youth volunteer program’s newest public service announcement will make its network television debut during this evening’s FOX broadcast of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game (Coverage begins at 7:00 PM ET).

The public service announcement features MLB All-Star outfielder, Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins and New York Yankees pitcher, Chris Capuano.

Filmed on location at Queens Vocational Technical High School in New York City this past January, the spot features students from the school’s Action Team as well as students from high schools up and down the east coast.

Annually one of network television’s most viewed programs of the summer, the All-Star Game broadcast of the thirty-second version of the Action Team’s newest PSA campaign will help support Major League baseball players and Volunteers of America in their combined efforts to train and inspire the next generation of volunteers through the Action Team.

In addition to the :30 spot,  the Action Team created :15 and :60 spots, plus a 4-minute video, titled “Legacy,” which helps  illustrate the tremendous impact the program has had on high school students and their communities since debuting in 2003.

Launched in Denver, Colorado more than a decade ago, today, there are 100 high schools from 34 states across the country, including Alaska and Hawaii, participating in the Action Team program. And since launching, more than 82,000 high school students have helped over 250,000 people in need through the Action Team.

About the Action Team

In 2003, the Major League Baseball Players Trust and Volunteers of America created the Action Team national youth volunteer program to recruit and train high school students to become volunteers in their communities. Through this partnership and unique program, Major Leaguers help inspire and encourage high school students to serve as Action Team Captains, who in turn deliver an important message to their peers: volunteering is cool, fun and personally rewarding.
