Avista Engages Young Women in Pizza, Pop and Power Tools Career Event

Recently, Avista participated in a local event called Pizza, Pop and Power Tools aimed at engaging young women in middle school and helping them explore different apprentice, technical and trade career paths. At the event, nearly 200 attendees experienced hands-on projects related to a particular trade. In addition to topics including carpentry, welding, equipment operation and more, Avista’s teams represented and introduced students to the Avista Line School, natural gas operations and meter operations.

Avista’s participation in and support of this event helps young women understand the opportunities available to them in these different industries and aligns with the company’s focus on building a well-prepared and diverse workforce into the future.
