Campaign: Shared Value

Building on years of success, Avista has partnered with the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club for the Avista Heroes at School program. Recently, Avista was at Stevens Elementary in Spokane with the Spokane Chiefs Hockey Club, where they discussed goal setting and achievement with the students. Avista donates 200 hockey game tickets to school administration who can use them to reward students who achieve their goals.

“At Stevens Elementary our students in 4-6th grade use the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program which helps us to develop college and career readiness skills for our students. We appreciate both Chiefs Hockey and the Avista Heroes program supporting our school with the message that all students should set long term goals for their future. This message helps to reinforce what we teach our students every day in the AVID program. We focus on students setting academic goals and teach students that in order to succeed, you must work towards those goals on a daily basis through hard work and perseverance,” said Heather Richardson, Stevens Elementary Principal.
