Bacardi Beautifies South Florida with Tree Planting Initiative

Sep 22, 2015 7:05 AM ET

Bacardi USA, Million Trees Miami, and American Forests joined forces recently to plant 20 trees in Miami Gardens, Florida. As part of American Forests’ Community ReLeaf program to help beautify local neighborhoods, the Bacardi team of employees came out with their sleeves rolled up and ready to work.

“Giving back to the community is a part of Bacardi’s DNA. This is something we’ve always done going back to 1862,” says Ed Knutel, Field Marketing Manager for Bacardi in the U.S.

Since beginning this environmental sustainability initiative with American Forests, Bacardi has planted about 50,000 trees throughout the United States, and will continue to have a great impact as part of its “Good Spirited” efforts. After a long day of service with high energy and enthusiasm, the team left the event knowing Bacardi had a hand in making a difference throughout the communities in which we all work and live.
