Berlin, January 19, 2015 /3BL Media/ Bombardier Transportation’s Health Safety and Environment (HSE) team from Vadodara, India has won a Best Safety Practice award during a Job Safety Analysis summit organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s premier trade industry body. The competition’s jury included the HSE heads of leading Indian companies in addition to various officials from the Government of Gujarat.

In this state-level competition, Bombardier Transportation employees competed against other leading global and Indian companies in a contest to identify maximum hazards and control measures. Competing under the name “Team Safe,” Bombardier Transportation’s Vadodara HSE team won the summit’s top prize and were congratulated by District Collector of Vadodara, Vinod Rao in an award ceremony.

Patrick Plichon, Bombardier Transportation Site General Manager, Savli said, “It is a proud moment for our HSE team. Endorsement by an external association is a testament to our safety processes, standards, and people. Participation in such forums also gives our HSE team a perspective on the best practices followed by various other leading companies.”

Valentine Paramasivam, Head of Propulsion Controls, Bombardier Transportation, India, said, “Safety is our utmost priority, and we have a zero-tolerance policy in regards to safety. Bombardier Transportation has attained, and continues to operate at, high levels of safety through strict compliance with existing policies and procedures. Our HSE team in India should take great pride in its accomplishment and continue to reinforce our high safety standards.”
