I’m a lifelong treehugger really so, you know, how many colleges . . . . I worked in forestry, I worked for WWF, I work within consultancy, I set up an organization like called The Climate Group working on climate change.  So that’s been my professional journey through life, working on sustainability issues.  I care, I join. A couple of years back I met with the IKEA CEO. I wasn’t sure if I wanted the job. Obviously he wasn’t sure if I was the right person.  I’m going to create a new position, to put into executive management a sustainability person.  And so we met each other. I said, if you aren’t interested in being incrementally less bad, I’m the wrong guy.  If you’re interested in transformational into good, I’m the right guy. I said about 5 things like that. Mikel’s face lits up in a big smile. I thought, oh, I’m going get offered this job and I’m going to have to think hard about that. But it was great for us, a sort of declaration of what was needed, what Mikel wanted, and what I felt for, really.
