The Avis Budget Group has signed a “Statement of Support” to formalize the company’s practice of providing employment opportunities to veterans. The Statement is an initiative of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of the Defense Agency. Avis Budget is also enrolled in the 100,000 Jobs Mission, a coalition of major corporations that have committed to hire that number of transitioning service members and military veterans by 2020. Additionally, the company has established a dedicated recruitment website to match veterans with employment opportunities, and is the official rental car company of the Wounded Warrior Project, providing transportation assistance to further WWP’s mission.

Bombardier has partnered with Kasetsart University in Thailand to provide engineering expertise to students and instructors for the next five years. Experts from the company will deliver lectures on advanced signaling technology, will assist the university in developing signaling and train control courses, and will participate in various events. More than 30 graduates from Kasetsart University have gained employment at Bombardier recently. Under the partnership, Bombardier will recruit more engineers from the university over the next five years. The company’s signaling engineering center in Bangkok employs 300, supporting local rail operators and executing key global projects.

Aeropostale has joined up with DoSomething.org for the sixth annual “Teens for Jeans” campaign, which encourages teens to donate their denim to help fight teen homelessness. Through February 10th, gently worn jeans of any size and brand can be dropped off at Aeropostale stores in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico to be distributed to local youth community shelters. For each pair donated, Aeropostale will give a discount of 25% off a new pair of jeans, though no purchase is necessary. To jump start the effort, the company is donating 10,000 pairs of new jeans to the campaign.
