"We are grateful to CITGO for this generous award. The programs we offer at Head Start are extremely valuable for the children and families we serve," said Shujuane Martin, director of Head Start and Early Head Start of Fayette County, Pa. "With the help of the CITGO Fueling Good Program, we can save money on fuel and instead use those funds to purchase new books and supplies for our educational programs."

Head Start and Early Head Start of Fayette County provides comprehensive child development programs designed for low-income pregnant women and families with children from birth to the age of five. The organization offers highly-qualified teachers and staff, tailored programs for each individual child's needs and goals, special needs services, social services programs, and programs to educate parents and children on nutrition, heath, child development and mental health.

"We understand the importance of early education, yet we also know that many educational institutions have experienced budget cuts," said Gustavo Velasquez, vice president of supply and marketing at CITGO. "We are proud to honor Head Start for giving back to local children and families and pleased to help the organization carry out its mission."

Over the past four years, CITGO has donated more than a million miles of good to more than 200 local heroes and non-profit organizations through its Fueling Good program. In the latest campaign, an all-time record of more than 300,000 votes were cast to determine the 12 winning 501(c)(3) organizations.
