I’m John Howell, Editorial Director for 3BL Media, I want to tell you about a change in our news reporting for the CSR Minute. The rapidly growing activity by you, our users, in the corporate social responsibility and sustainability fields, is causing us to go deeper in our reporting on the many initiatives, partnerships, reports, issues, and innovations that flow through our CSR news and content Feed, and throughout the entire CSR media space every day. So, in the CSR Minute, we’re moving from presenting the news to taking a more in-depth look at what’s behind those headlines.

Going forward, this program will be dedicated to commentary on, analysis of, and opinion about all things related to CSR and sustainability. We will be reporting on the major CSR issues. We will be reviewing that news for the news you can use, for its context and its meaning. We’ll be offering you the best insights of the moment in little more than a minute.

Here’s what’s behind our decision:

Since 2009, when 3BL Media first presented the CSR Minute, we have researched, written, edited, and produced over 1,000 daily episodes of our trademark video program. We have also produced hundreds of conference interview videos; custom video profiles of companies and organizations; a financial commentary video series for Reuters Insider; and published hundreds of articles written by our Justmeans staff writers and Social Earth bloggers.

When we began 3BL Media, we wanted to present CSR and sustainability-related news through a multi-platform, multi-channel, multi-format media machine that distributed the news you needed.

Now, four years later, working with hundreds of businesses and organizations; with distribution relationships with Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, the Associated Press, and PR Newswire; with hundreds of affiliates and secondary distributors; and with our subsidiary Web sites, Justmeans and Social Earth, we’re taking on the responsibility to help you better understand all the information we publish, every day.
