Getting back into the job market can be tough for former military when they return home. A recent survey by Prudential and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America found that 60 percent of respondents have had trouble selling their skills. This means there are barriers that need to be dealt with since former service men and women can offer significant skills, but do not have the proper support to transition back into the civilian workforce.

But they are not out in the cold. To help them understand the larger picture of corporate culture, Deloitte will host the Career Opportunity Redefinition & Exploration (CORE) Leadership Program from November 14-16 at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas. During the three-day session, 50 current and former service men and women will learn how to translate their military skills and experiences into business environments.

A panel of business leaders will tell the audience what organizations are looking for and share insights on the transition challenges that veterans face. Veterans will get tips on how to make the most of their military experience and highlight those skills during job interviews.
