McLean, Va., October 9, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Hilton Worldwide Team Members continued to spread their passion for hospitality and service on day three of the Hilton Worldwide Global Week of Service, hosting service events around the world including events in Watford, England; Istanbul, Turkey; and Orlando, FL. Service events ranged from school refurbishment projects to a coastal area clean up. All events focused on enhancing local communities as part of the company’s efforts to Travel with Purpose™. Visit www.hiltonworldwide.com/serve for more information about the service projects and follow @HiltonWorldwide on Twitter for the latest information and updates throughout the week.

Watford, England: More than 130 Hilton Worldwide Watford Corporate office volunteers helped transform the Breakspeare School - painting and improving the outer walls, cleaning the popular hydrotherapy pool area and creating a raised garden.

Istanbul, Turkey: Hilton Worldwide Vice President of Operations, Essam Abouda, and 95 Team Members from six Hilton Worldwide properties hosted three events throughout the day.  The events were sponsored in partnership with the Hilton in the Community Foundation. Two teams worked with the Turkish Red Crescent to refurbish classrooms, create a library and an outdoor play area for children at the Nurettin Selcuk and Uskudar Sultantepe Elementary school. Additional Team Members participated in a coastal cleanup collecting 253.5 kg of rubbish along the Burgazada coast.

Orlando, Florida: 75 Embassy Suites Team Members joined Hands on Orlando to jumpstart a new family- program, Go Fish, which enables children and their parents to fish together at the Secret Lake Park. Volunteers created fishing supply kits that included rods and reels. Additionally, they cleared overgrown vegetation to expand recreational space. Team Members also built four benches for families to use while spending time in the park.

Los Angeles, California: More than 80 Team Members representing 14 DoubleTree by Hilton hotels developed a sustainable edible garden for the 1,722 students at Hollenbeck Middle School. From building an irrigation system and raised bed gardens to planting grass and an orchard, volunteers worked hand-in-hand with students to bring the garden to life.
