On May 16-17, 2013 VolunteerMatch will gather its corporate clients for a day and a half of learning, sharing and networking. The 2013 VolunteerMatch Client Summit will feature several sessions led by corporate social responsibility (CSR) thought leaders. In this series of posts, we’ll introduce you to each of the speakers and what they’ll discuss at the Summit.

Best Practice Cafe Topic: “Creating Culture That Is Incentive Enough”

Companies often leverage programs like Dollars for Doers or initiatives like gift-matching to incentivize employee engagement, but what if it was possible to foster a corporate culture that inherently and consistently motivated employees to give and volunteer?

In this session at the 2013 VolunteerMatch Client Summit, Maureen Flynn from Changing Our World with help participants explore practical strategies for embedding employee engagement into their company’s DNA. We’ll discuss what it takes to leverage that engagement as a tool to develop talent, build loyalty, and increase satisfaction among colleagues. The audience will leave with an understanding of how to formalize their program, empower their people, set and communicate goals, and gain buy-in from key influencers.

Jessica Hubbard and Annalisa Amicangelo from VolunteerMatch client Houghton Mifflin Harcourt will join Maureen in leading the discussion.

About Maureen Flynn:

Maureen Flynn leads corporate social engagement project for clients at Changing Our World, a leading international philanthropic consulting firm, where she brings to her work a decade of experience in corporate philanthropy and corporate-nonprofit partnerships.  Maureen’s client experience represents an array of sectors and industries, and includes organizations such as Arizona Public Service, BNY Mellon, ConAgra Foods, MillerCoors and Phillips 66.

Prior to joining Changing Our World, Maureen nonprofit partnerships and grantmaking initiatives for Canon U.S.A. and Toshiba America Foundation. She earned a BA in Communications from SUNY-Oswego. She currently serves as a member of the Oswego Alumni Association’s Board of Directors.
