PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 10, 2013 /3BL Media/ — High school students from across the Bay Area will gather at SAP’s Palo Alto campus this Saturday, October 12 to participate in the first-ever NFTE-PilotSF High School Hackathon, sponsored by SAP.

Over the course of one day, students will design, create, and pitch their app for the chance to win prizes, including $1,500 for first place. Students will receive mentoring throughout the day from volunteers from top technology companies and entrepreneurs as well as Computer Science students from Stanford University and UC Berkeley.

Entrepreneurship education is a fundamental tool for creating an ongoing cycle of learning and innovation that will bring sustainable job creation and re-creation. NFTE, PilotSF and SAP join in support of this important mission, and with this inaugural high school hackathon aim to promote intensive collaboration on an innovative software project in an environment that is educational, social and competitive.
