Indianapolis, August 29, 2013 /3BL Media/ – Subaru of America, Inc.’s Columbus Zone office partnered with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to donate more than 200 science books to Washington Irving School in Indianapolis. The donation is made as part of the “Subaru Loves Science” program and was realized through signature collection at the Indiana Academy of Science 128th Annual Academy Meeting, held March 9, 2013 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis, where nearly 400 Indiana scientists, science educators and young emerging scientists attended.

Tim Stallings, Subaru Columbus Zone Director said: “We are excited to support science education in our local school. Subaru owners have always shown an affinity to the sciences and so it is a great fit for our brand.”

Dr. Dale Edwards, President of the Indiana Academy of Science and Chairman of the Department of Biology, University of Evansville, Indiana commented: “The Indiana Academy of Science is a proud supporter of the SUBARU LOVES SCIENCE program, and is very happy to have helped to make today's science book donation possible for students from Washington Irving School.”

The Subaru brand has enjoyed strong sales in recent years, with five record-setting years and four consecutive years of sales increases. “Subaru Loves Science” was launched in 2011 in conjunction with AAAS, Subaru corporate and local Subaru dealers. The signature program delivers newly published, award winning science books to AAAS-selected public schools each fall.
