These days, it's not uncommon to read about the CEO of a company who's also a mother. Take the case of Angela Ahrendts, CEO of fashion company Burberry. Since she took over the iconic English fashion house in 2006, she's transformed the company from an old-school trench-coat purveyor into a social media phenomenon amongst younger fashionistas. Besides being Burberry's CEO, she's also the mother of three teenagers: Jennings, 17, Sommer, 16, and Angelina, 12.

Companies play a role in making sure women are represented in their rankings through policies designed to retain them and create an inclusive corporate environment.

Recently, Working Mother published its 11th edition of a list that recognizes 25 U.S. organizations based on what they do to value multicultural women in their staff.

"The Best Companies for Multicultural Women know that a truly diverse workforce is a critical element in creating an effective team that understands and delivers value to its clients. Grooming female leaders has become a crucial mandate," said Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media.
