“At Bechtel, we are actively looking for ways to reduce the cost of carbon capture,’’ John Gulen, a senior principal engineer at Bechtel, said at the Concordia Summit in New York on Tuesday. Gulen spoke at a session addressing private companies’ role in achieving the U.N.’s sustainable development goals, which include affordable and clean energy.

Colorado Plant Begins Chemical Weapons Destruction
Bechtel has congratulated the workforce at the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant on achieving a significant milestone—the initial processing of chemical weapons, bringing the U.S. a step closer to meeting treaty obligations to destroy its remaining chemical weapons stockpile. The milestone marks the first time that the Bechtel-led plant has handled mustard agent.
