CITGO Receives Partner of the Year Award From Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend
The CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery proudly accepted the Partner of the Year award at a Partner Appreciation ceremony, presented by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend on the evening of Feb. 22. The Partner of the Year honoree is selected based on overall commitment to the organization in the prior year. In addition to CITGO, other award recipients joined Boys & Girls Club board members at the event.

CITGO Honors Local Partners at Annual Appreciation Breakfast
The CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery recently hosted its Annual Partner Appreciation Breakfast to recognize local organizations making a positive difference in the Coastal Bend region. The annual breakfast event, held at the Art Museum of South Texas, hosted guests from local industry; businesses; educational institutions, including Foy H. Moody High School, home of the CITGO Innovation Academy; and non-profit organizations, such as the United Way of the Coastal Bend and the Coastal Bend Food Bank.

CITGO Supports the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Bend and Welcomes NFL Hall of Famers
CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery recently welcomed two NFL Hall of Famers to the 2nd Annual Alumni Banquet, benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastal Bend. The event took place at the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds on Sept. 23.

CITGO Supports Corpus Christi Students With School Supplies at 5th Annual Abel Herrero School Supply Giveaway
South Texas students had the opportunity to start the school year off right this fall with help of the CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery. TeamCITGO volunteers packed and distributed 200 backpacks filled with school supplies at Robstown High School as part of the 5th Annual Abel Herrero School Supply Giveaway.

CITGO Corpus Christi Sponsors Ready or Not Foundation’s Luncheon in Support of Pediatric Cancer Research
CITGO Corpus Christi is supporting Ready or Not Foundation’s efforts in pediatric cancer research by sponsoring this year’s Best Dressed Luncheon on Sept. 21 at the Solomon P. Ortiz International Center. Childhood brain tumors are the leading cause of death in pediatric cancer patients under the age of 19, and the Ready or Not Foundation aims to increase awareness and raise funds for vital research.

CITGO Announces Donation to Assist Hurricane Harvey’s Relief Efforts in Corpus Christi and Surrounding Areas
CITGO Petroleum Corporation announced today that it has made a donation of $500,000 to the Coastal Bend Community Foundation to assist local authorities in providing services to those afflicted by the Hurricane’s devastating path. The donation is in addition to potable water and fuel the company has already donated to local residents and first responders.

CITGO Employees Invited to the Annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) has invited CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery employees to attend “Sponsor Day” at the annual MDA Summer Camp in Camp Aranzazu near Rockport. During their time there, they will be free to tour the camp, participate in a camp activity and meet the campers that they have helped send to camp.

CITGO Helps Bring Mobile Literacy Program Bess the Book Bus to Corpus Christi Area for National Reading Month School Visits
In celebration of National Reading Month, CITGO partnered with mobile literacy program Bess the Book Bus to give out free books to hundreds of Corpus Christi children this February. As part of the program's ongoing tour across the country, Bess the Book Bus and founder Jennifer Frances made three stops at Corpus Christi-area schools, and CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery employees were on hand to help give pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first-grade students one of their first tastes of the fun of reading.

CITGO Volunteers Fill Backpacks for Corpus Christi Students at 4th Annual Abel Herrero School Supplies Giveaway
To help Southeast Texas students start off the school year on the right foot, volunteers from the CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery packed and donated 200 backpacks with school supplies as part of the 4th Annual Abel Herrero School Supplies Giveaway at the Robstown High School Auditorium.

CITGO and Charlie’s Place Recovery Center Partner for “A Night in Vegas” Fundraiser Benefitting Patients Battling Addiction
For more than 50 years, Charlie’s Place Recovery Center, one of Texas’s largest nonprofit, residential drug and alcohol treatment centers, has helped thousands of people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction rebuild their lives. To further the center’s work helping patients overcome addiction, CITGO Petroleum Corporation is again sponsoring the Charlie’s Place “A Night in Vegas” fundraiser. Funds raised from this year’s event, which will be held August 20 at the American Bank Center, will go toward patient care.
