CITGO Energy Efficient Lighting Program
The CITGO-Venezuela Energy Efficient Lighting Program provides compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and energy efficiency information to low-income households. In 2012, the program will supply approximately 500,000 energy-saving CFLs to 50,000 qualifying low-income households across 17 U.S. cities. The light bulbs are expected to save a total of $18 million in energy costs by reducing kilowatt hour usage by 185 million and carbon dioxide emissions by more than 271 million pounds, which is equivalent to removing more than 24,000 cars from the road.
