CITGO Holds Annual Food Drive for Local Pantries
Recently, employees at the CITGO Lemont Refinery held their annual food drive benefiting six local pantries: Bethany Food Pantry, Day Break Shelter, DuPage Township Pantry, Fairmont Food Pantry, Lockport FISH Pantry and Romeoville Community Pantry.

CITGO Lemont Provides Food, Coats and Toys to Local Families During Holidays
During the recent holiday season and extreme winter weather, the CITGO Lemont Refinery generously supported employee-led initiatives to provide food, clothing and toys to local families. Refinery employees lead an annual food drive prior to Thanksgiving to help local organizations fill their shelves before the holidays. This year, employees donated approximately 40 grocery bags and 30 large bins of food and delivered them to six area food pantries including, Bethany Food Pantry, Day Break Shelter, DuPage Township Pantry, Fairmont Food Pantry and Romeoville Community Pantry.

CITGO Continues Restoration Work in Lemont Quarries
The CITGO Lemont Refinery, in partnership with The Conservation Foundation and the Village of Lemont, continued their environmental restoration project in the Heritage Quarries Recreation Area (HQRA) this past October. Volunteers worked together to remove invasive plant species in visible areas by trimming trees and removing invasive brush.

CITGO Lemont Refinery Brings Bess the Book Bus to Lemont School
The CITGO Lemont Refinery and mobile literacy outreach program, Bess the Book Bus, brought the joy of reading to local students at St. Cyril and Methodius School in Lemont during the month of October. Approximately 105 books were distributed to St. Cyril and Methodius School students. Students were able to pick out their very own book to take home and then enjoyed participating in an interactive and hands-on drum circle hosted by Bess the Book Bus Partner, Giving Tree Music.

CITGO Lemont Refinery Partners With the Village of Lemont on Recycling Day
CITGO Lemont Refinery and the Village of Lemont and Lemont Environmental Advisory Commission partnered to host the semi-annual fall Recycling Day on Oct. 14. The event provided an opportunity for community residents to drop off unwanted recyclable items and household waste.

CITGO Lemont Refinery Raises Funds to Find a Cure for Muscular Dystrophy
The CITGO Lemont Refinery is a committed partner of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and has raised more than $600,000 for the organization during 2017. Funds raised help underwrite clinical research, assist with medical and rehabilitation costs, and send children affected by neurological diseases to MDA Summer Camp in Hudson, Ill.

In September, the CITGO Lemont TeamCITGO volunteer organization was awarded the Volunteer Group of the Year by the MorningStar Mission in Joliet, Ill. at its annual volunteer banquet.
