Cargill and Solidaridad Establish Palm Oil Sustainability Program in Colombia
Cargill, in collaboration with the international nonprofit Solidaridad and the Colombian-based international trading company, C.I. Biocosta S.A., announced today a new palm oil smallholder sustainability program in Colombia aimed at improving agricultural practices and farmer livelihoods. The two-year effort will strengthen operations in cooperation with more than 480 palm farmers through training and technical assistance.

If President Trump withdraws the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement, he will be moving against the wishes of some of Minnesota’s biggest companies. “We would be incredibly disappointed if the U.S. decides to withdraw from the agreement to which our country had committed,” Cargill CEO David MacLennan said Wednesday in a statement to the Star Tribune.

Cargill and Heineken Employees Give Up Their Saturday to Help Litter-pick
A group of Cargill employees collected 20 bags of litter from the brook near their place of work. The Big Tidy Up took place along Yazor Brook in Hereford and then continued on to Red Barn Drive, Grandstand Road, Widemarsh Common, Yazor Brook cycle path and Yazor Road.They also put up bird and bat boxes, sparrow houses and bee shelters and sowed wild flower seeds.
