HMH’s Community Investment Councils (CICs) are designed to empower our employees around the world to make a difference in their local communities. After a three-site pilot in 2011, HMH now runs CIC programs in 12 major offices. Throughout 2012, these teams of employee volunteers worked with their local colleagues to organize nearly 180 office-wide volunteer events and fundraisers, and award resources—including employee time, HMH products, and funds—to non-profits in their local area.
