Aflac Tells the World How Much Good It Does
Aflac—the well-known insurance organization with the famous duck mascot—takes its corporate social responsibilities seriously. The organization recently passed the $110 million mark in support for childhood cancer treatment and research, and has appeared on Ethisphere’s “World’s Most Ethical Companies” list 11 years in a row. Yet a Reputation Institute report found that consumers weren’t aware of its good works. That revelation led to a multifaceted effort to raise awareness of Aflac’s CSR efforts. It also led to Aflac winning first place for “Campaign of the Year” in PR Daily’s 2017 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards.

Aflac to Unveil 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility Report
Aflac is excited about unveiling its 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report on July 25, where we’ll honor several Aflac CSR Heroes. One of them is Aflac Regional Sales Coordinator Tanya Winchester from Orlando, Florida. She and her team volunteer at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children organizing parties for the kids, participating in fundraising walks and more. How Aflac Raised Its Reputation Pulse Score for Its CSR Initiatives
I recently had a conversation with the Reputation Institute, a leading research and advisory firm that collects and analyzes data and proffers advice about corporate reputation. We discussed Pulse Scores, derived from data that the Institute calculates for companies to measure their public reputation. Its algorithms are based on seven dimensions: leadership, performance, products/services, innovation, citizenship, governance and workplace.

Aflac, the leader in voluntary insurance sales at the worksite in the United States, was honored by PR News Magazine as the 2017 Company of the Year at the PR News CSR Awards held in Washington, D.C., on March 22. The company received the award in the “Corporation, less than 25,000 employees” category.
