Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community

Susquehanna Service Dogs is one of 41 organizations participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community. Our goal is to raise $20,000—the actual cost of raising and training one service dog.

Service dogs change lives. Beyond performing tasks like picking up objects, finding and retrieving the phone, pulling a manual wheelchair, and alerting to sounds, service dogs open the door to countless opportunities. One mother said, “I can honestly say I have seen more good results from my son and SSD Shamrock being together than I have from any service, treatment, therapy, hospital, doctor, etc.”

There are several ways you can support Susquehanna Service Dogs in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community. You can form a team, raise money, and walk in the Walk on May 18, 2013. Or you can be a virtual walker and make a donation to SSD.
