Companies around the world increasingly recognize that a reduction in GHG emissions is not only good for global climate but also for their bottom line. Carbon reduction by companies comes from the adoption of low-carbon energy infrastructure, improved transportation use, and increase in energy efficiency.

Carbon Action, an investor action group, has lobbied more than 1,300 companies this year to reduce GHG emissions. Its efforts have resulted in targeted companies cutting down emission by 640 million tons in 2015. According to the CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project), Carbon Action has also helped drive a 130 percent growth in the number of carbon reduction projects.
