June 5, 2011 /3BL Media/ - Welcome to P&O Cruises’ third annual Sustainability Report documenting progress in addressing our environmental, economic and social impact.

This report covers activities during 2011 in which the cruise industry continued its strong record of double digit annual growth for a seventh consecutive year. It builds on the baseline established in the inaugural Sustainability Report which provided a benchmark against which progress in reaching our goals can be measured.

Sustainability is at the core of P&O Cruises’ business. We believe that operating in an environmentally, socially and financially responsible way is central to providing passengers with memorable cruise holidays in some of the world’s most idyllic and hard-to-reach locations.

To us, sustainable management means remaining a strong and successful business that fulfils our obligations as a responsible employer, business partner, customer and neighbour in the Pacific Islands. It means operating as a responsible citizen in a global community in a way that minimises our environmental footprint and delivers positive benefits to the communities where we operate.

We will continue to work towards achieving our goals and we are vigilant in measuring progress in order to continually improve our performance.
