This week, over 250 sustainability professionals gathered in Brussels for the seventh global roundtable of the Low Carbon Technology Partnerships Initiative (LCTPi). Check out our Insider Perspective to see what you missed. We also announced plans to expand the reach of below50 and grow the market for the world's most sustainable fuels through a new partnership with We Mean Business. Under the new partnership, below50 will become a key initiative for companies committing to climate action through the We Mean Business platform. Be the business voice at the UN's High-Level Political Forum
Business will help governments deliver the SDGs. As UN member states gather to review SDG implementation at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in New York, join leading companies in making the business voice loud and clear. At this year's HLPF, we'll be strongly engaged at the SDG Business Forum on 18 July and at a joint event with UNDESA (Business and the SDGs - Moving from Aspiration to Action) on 19 July. Register to attend now!
The World Circular Economy Forum took place earlier this month in Helsinki. WBCSD took the event by storm, releasing our brand-new CEO Guide to the Circular Economy and announcing Factor10, our new circular economy program. Stay tuned for the release of the Practitioner Guide to the Circular Economy, coming out next week.
The FSB will deliver its final recommendations of the Task force for Climate-related Financial Disclosure Recommendations later this month, following a period public consultation earlier this year. The SDGs will not be achieved unless climate change is addressed. We urge G20 leaders to give the recommendations their full endorsement, to provide an important step in reaching the Paris Agreement and keeping global warming well below a 2°C average temperature increase.
Promoting renewable power in India
Earlier this month, 60 participants from the Indian renewables value chain came together for the first workshop of the Corporate Renewable PPA Forum. Participants, who included 22 WBCSD member companies, are working to raise awareness, build shared knowledge and engage in dialogue with policy makers to support more renewable energy procurement by the private sector. Read more about this month's workshop here, check out WBCSD's PPAs report or contact us for more information.
