Points of Light, an organization dedicated to volunteer service, and its partner Bloomberg have announced their annual Civic 50 list of good corporate citizens. The Civic 50 chooses the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S. as evaluated in an annual survey. Winners were chosen based on four criteria of community engagement: investment of resources, integration of program with business strategy, institutionalization of support, and measured impact. All U.S. companies with revenues of $1 billion or more were eligible for this year’s list. The 50 companies are listed alphabetically.

For the first time, the top three companies across 10 sectors were also announced, in communications, consumer discretionary and staples, energy, financials, health care, industrials, materials, technology, and utilities. Among the many familiar names on the list are Alcoa, AT&T, Bank of America, Caesar’s Entertainment, Citi, ConAgra, Direct TV, FedEx, General Mills, GE, PwC, SAP, The Hershey Company, Toyota, and Verizon. Lesser known winners include CSAA Insurance Group, Health Care Service Corporation, and Sigma-Aldrich. You can view the list and rankings at civic50.org.
