Global Brands manage supply chains with hundreds, thousands, and sometimes more than a hundred thousand, suppliers.  The SEC's Dodd-Frank Section 1502 Conflict minerals rule requiring public companies to disclose minerals sourced from conflicted regions sent a sound wave of panic starting in procurement and ending in the Board Room given the legal and financial implications of compliance with the SEC's new Rule.

Companies spent a lot of time trying to figuring out what Conflict Minerals Compliance requires of their company.  As the halfway mark for the first reporting period approaches many of these companies are requesting short turn-around for demonstration and proposals for a solution to their Conflict Minerals Compliance program.  
 
The good news? These late-comers benefit from the aggregate learning curve of those companies that have already implemented their programs.
