May 20, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Eastman strives to promote educational efforts in the communities where we operate globally.

One recent opportunity focuses on early childhood education in the Latin America region, specifically in cities surrounding Eastman’s Mexico and Brazil sites.

In 2014, Eastman partnered with the United Way of Miami-Dade, as well as other corporate leaders and philanthropists, to support programs that teach young children about math, science, and the environment in an international collaborative initiative.

A grant of $40,000 from the Eastman Foundation will partially go toward funding the Nacer Aprendiendo (Born Learning) program, a strategic project that strengthens early childhood education through teacher training and innovative education programs. This specific program will reach nearly 800 pre-school aged students in underprivileged communities in Mexico this year.

“Eastman values its international partnership with the United Way of Miami-Dade,” said Juan Carlos Parodi, vice president, managing director for Latin America at Eastman. “Through our collaboration with their organization, we are able to reach far more children and empower them to learn and promote change within their communities.”
