Today’s guest blog comes from Steve Rosenthal, founder of Cross-Cultural Solutions.  Cross-Cultural Solutions is Lilly’s primary partner for Connecting Hearts Abroad, a global employee volunteer program introduced by Lilly in 2011.

People usually think of great partnerships in terms of what the partnership accomplishes for each of the involved parties.  The Connecting Hearts Abroad partnership is great for Eli Lilly and Company and it’s certainly great for Cross-Cultural Solutions (CCS).  But what takes this partnership to a special place is what it does for others around the world.

For CCS, Lilly volunteers are some of the best we’ve ever had – full of enthusiasm and energy for our mission and so knowledgeable about the global health issues that affect communities worldwide.  For Lilly, the Connecting Hearts Abroad program fulfils its corporate responsibility goals on an international scale, encouraging employees to form new relationships, experientially broaden their understanding of global health challenges, and bring those learnings back, making Lilly an even stronger, more globally aware company.
