Let's Talk Turkey

While not all turkeys have it easy this holiday season, those living on the grounds of Domtar's Bennettsville, SC mill have it better than most. In an effort to increase healthy biodiversity around the facility, Domtar instituted a wildlife habitat management plan few years ago. Today those efforts are paying off, including for wild turkeys living within the mill's gates.

Improving Forestry in the Appalachians 

Many small landowners don't understand that their actions can have significant, region-wide impacts. As part of the Rainforest Alliance initiative the Appalachian Woodlands Alliance (AWA),Domtar is working to ensure sustainable forest management becomes the norm in the southeastern U.S. Michael Morris, Fiber Procurement Manager at the Kingsport, TN mill explains how Domtar's partnership with AWA helps landowners realize the full potential of the valuable asset they control.

Did You Know?

During WWII, the site of Domtar's Espanola, Ontario mill was used as a prisoner-of-war camp for captured soldiers. In the winter, they were even provided with two recreational ice surfaces - one for hockey, and one for curling!
