Never before have women played such a crucial role shaping the future of European markets and Financial News’s 11th list of the 100 most influential women in finance is a celebration of their achievements.

A leadership shakeup in January 2017 handed Parker responsibility for Northern Trust’s asset servicing, asset management and wealth businesses, as well as regulatory affairs, across EMEA.

This year she ensured that Northern Trust signed the HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter – pledging to have women fill 35% of senior UK management roles by December 2020. The 35-year Northern Trust veteran moved from Chicago to London to become chief operating officer of corporate and institutional services in 2014. Parker is a passionate advocate of flexible working arrangements, now used by 25% of Northern Trust’s UK staff.
