Earth Day at Ingersoll Rand: Employees Worldwide Lead and Join Local Events

On April 22, 2015: It's Our Turn to Lead

Each year, Ingersoll Rand employees at locations worldwide plan and participate in Earth Day events to reduce waste, increase energy efficiency and improve the environment in ways that are fun and relevant to their communities. Activities include clean-ups, energy audits, dumpster dives to identify additional recycling opportunities, re-use education, crafts, and planting trees.

Since 2010, Ingersoll Rand's Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability (CEES) has continually encouraged more and more employees to participate in Earth Day and sustainability-related actions throughout the year. Using EarthDay.org's “It’s Our Turn To Lead” theme as our inspiration, we are encouraging employees to plant trees at their local sites and in their communities.

Many Earth Day activities are led by the company's large network of employee-led Green Teams.

"Ingersoll Rand Green Teams are volunteer groups of employees who identify ways to reduce the environmental impact of their local facility," said Gretchen Digby, director, global sustainability programs, CEES. "Employees continually initiate projects that lead to economic, social and environmental improvements."
