The European Union has adopted an Energy Efficiency Directive as the final part of its overall climate and energy policy. The Directive requires energy companies to achieve 1.5 percent energy savings. The EU law is expected to result in a large retrofitting of Europe’s existing building stock and to set new standards for public procurement and energy audits.

ConAgra Lamb Weston has won an award for Energy Manager of the Year from the Association of Energy Engineers. Mike Henderson, the brand’s Energy and Environmental Engineering Manager, oversees a team that manages energy efficiency at more than 10 of Lamb Weston’s facilities. He also serves as the Energy Committee Chair for the Northwest Food Processors Association. Lamb Weston makes frozen potato and other vegetable products for restaurants, retailers, and other foodservice operations.
