GE is providing monthly financing options to customers in New York and New Jersey who need to retrofit or replace backup power equipment due to damage from Hurricane Sandy. The company’s manufacturing facilities have also increased their production schedules to meet the demand for key electrical distribution equipment and components to expedite the delivery of electrical equipment to restore and maintain power. GE has donated $1 million to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and $100,000 to the United Way.

The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay has installed a passive energy recovery and dehumidification HVAC system. The new HVAC design is projected to save 464,000-kilowatt hours each year, for a yearly savings of $37,000. The hotel will also reduce its CO2 output by 320 metric tons.
