According to http://energystar.gov, as much as half of the energy used in your home goes to heating and cooling. At a minimum, you should change the filter in your furnace every three months it is in use.

A dirty filter will slow down air flow and make the system work harder to keep you warm. A clean filter will prevent dust and dirt from building up in the system, saving you energy and money.

Visit http://ilenergysaver.org to learn more energy saving tips.

Remember to inspect, clean or change your furnace filter once a month, and stop those dirty thieves.
