Enhancing the Lives of Children in Canada’s North

Jun 5, 2017 10:30 AM ET

For the third year in a row, Scotiabank partnered with Project North – a non-profit organization committed to enhancing the lives of children in Canada's North –travelled to Canada’s North alongside the National Hockey League, Rumie, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and First Air to deliver 150 bags of new hockey equipment and 150 Rumie educational tablets to children in seven Nunavut communities.

Technology played a major part of this year’s initiative thanks to the Rumie’s donation of 150 tablets.  Rumie produces educational tablets that provide students with learning  tools and  resources that require little or no internet connection to work which makes them  ideal for remote communities where internet access isn’t always available.

To make the trip even more special, we brought our Scotiabank Teammate and NHL Hall of Famer, Lanny McDonald, All-Star, Natalie Spooner and the Stanley Cup!

As Canada celebrates its 150th year, we are committed to supporting the next generation of Canadians as they strive to reach their #InfinitePotential!
