A new report from the European Parliament finds that small business enterprises could play a larger role in promoting CSR. SME’s make up 90 percent of Europe’s businesses, and should collaborate more to address shared social and environmental problems to reduce the cost of CSR related activities. The report adds that many small businesses are not aware of the positive impact that CSR could have on their economic performance. It suggests that the European Parliament should make the involvement in CSR of SME’s a political priority, and should support actions by national governments to step up coordination activities.

It’s the last week for voting for finalists in the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship’s Film Festival. The annual festival gives companies a platform to exhibit their use of video as a communications tool. Ten finalists will be selected from 75 entries to be showcased for 600 corporate citizenship professionals at the BCCC Conference in April, where the winning video will be announced. Entries include films by Hilton, Southwest, Waggner Edstrom, AT&T, GMCR, Brown-Forman, and Mary Kay. To see the entries and to vote, go to the Film Festival section at www.bcccc.net.
