Financial Analyst and MGM Resorts International Board Member Mary Chris Gay Will Speak at the 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference, July 13-14

July 10, 2015 /3BL Media/ - The MGM Resorts Foundation is proud to announce Mary Chris Gay as a keynote speaker at the 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference July 13 and 14 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Ms. Gay, who spent the first 25 years of her career in the financial services industry, is currently an investment consultant who helps procure investment funds for startups in the tech industry and medical services fields. In February 2014, she was elected to the MGM Resorts International Board of Directors, where she currently serves on the board’s audit and compensation committees.

Ms. Gay will be featured as a keynote speaker during the 2015 Women’s Leadership Conference, which is themed “Women Inspiring Women.” The two-day conference will offer a wide range of learning opportunities, career guidance and personal growth tools, including:

  • Exposure to diverse, nationally recognized speakers and accomplished women role models
  • Career-oriented workshops that will give participants hands-on opportunities to develop skills based on their career needs
  • Three distinct learning tracks for participants who are Emerging Leaders, Emerging Executives and Executives 

Ms. Gay served as a senior vice president, portfolio manager and equity analyst for more than 24 years at Baltimore-based Legg Mason Global Asset Management, an international asset management firm.  Her primary area of research focused on the gaming and lodging industries at a time when Legg Mason Funds took meaningful positions in several companies within the industry groups and was often among the largest investors in the space.

As a senior member of the portfolio management team overseeing the retail and institutional assets associated with the Legg Mason Capital Management Value Trust, Legg Mason’s flagship mutual fund, at the firm’s peak in assets, Ms. Gay was responsible for over $20 billion in client assets. Ms. Gay has been featured in numerous print publications and has been interviewed on Bloomberg television in the United States and Europe. In 2006, Global Investor Magazine named her one of the top 20 key players for next generation in asset management and in 2003 she was selected as one of the top business executives in Baltimore Business Journal’s 40 Under 40.

The Women’s Leadership Conference is open to women of all ethnicities, professions and social backgrounds, locally and nationally, and the men who support them. The MGM Resorts Foundation is the conference’s presenting sponsor. Proceeds of the conference after costs will be donated to one or more local nonprofit agencies devoted to the welfare and development of women and girls.
