As part of the pre-conference programming for Connect the Dots: How Businesses Solve Global Challenges Locally, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is hosting four free workshops on October 5. Each of the four workshops will take a deep dive into specific issues, with experts offering best practices, skill-building exercises, and more.

Communications Workshop: Corporate Citizenship Success Through Storytelling
October 5, 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.

This session focuses on innovative storytelling strategies and tactics to help citizenship efforts reach a broader audience.
Participants in this workshop will develop a better understanding of what makes a compelling story, as well as the tools to uncover narratives in their own organizations.

How to Address Water as a Business Risk & Opportunity
October 5, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

During this workshop, experts will explore the connection between business value and water risks.

A framework for water stewardship and business growth will be presented. Water risk tools, frameworks, best practices and case studies will be used during the workshop.

Global Food Security: Bringing it Home for U.S. Consumers
October 5, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Businesses have a role to play to ensure consumers have access to safe, nutritious food while minimizing household food waste.

This workshop will focus on implications for the U.S. consumer, and explore how companies can leverage education, partnerships and innovation to address future U.S. food security needs within a global food supply system.

Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies: Bridging Health and Education for Sustainable Development
October 5, 2:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Experts will discuss the links between education and health, and how businesses can develop partnerships to leverage these links for greater returns.

Attendees will learn how companies can take a systematic approach to addressing health and education in their global development work.
