On April 26, 21st Century Fox welcomed some of the top students from New York's Ghetto Film School onto the Fox Studios lot in Los Angeles for a day of workshops and masterclass conversations company leaders. Angela Courtin, Chief Marketing Officer at FOX Broadcasting, and Phoebe Tisdale-Andrews, VP of Production, spoke to the young filmmakers about their journeys into the entertainment industry, as well as how they see the business changing over time. Ghetto Film School teaches filmmaking to young people from communities traditionally underrepresented in Hollywood, and 21CF is the founding sponsor of its Los Angeles program.

"Ghetto Film School and The Cinema School are deeply invested in giving all of our young storytellers real-world access, and we're immensely grateful that our amazing partners at 21st Century Fox share these same value," said Derrick Cameron, Artistic Director at Ghetto Film School. "Sharing this amount of time with two dynamic women who are leaders in their field gives our artists a great example to aspire to and professional lessons they can apply moving forward in their own creative lives."

The students' visit began with a tour of the Fox Studios lot, providing an up-close look at some of the most captivating moments in Hollywood history, such as actress Shirley Temple's on-lot residence. The tour also included a look behind the scenes at each production department, from lighting and wardrobe to transportation and set construction.

Following the tour, Phoebe Tisdale-Andrews, VP of Production at FOX, hosted a lunch and question-and-answer session with the students. She discussed her long career as a producer, including live specials like "American Idol" and the Academy Awards, and offered tips on how to succeed in production. Later, the students met with Angela Courtin, CMO of FOX, who spoke about her path into entertainment, her career highlights and challenges, and how creative education is an invaluable tool for today's workforce. The students concluded their day with a photo shoot at the lot's historic "New York Street."

21CF is a longtime supporter of Ghetto Film School, aiming to give its students an immersive education in both the craft and business of filmmaking. The company is the founding sponsor of GFS LA, the West Coast campus of Ghetto Film School, and consistently gives students opportunities to gain hands-on experience in film and television. Currently, GFS LA students are partnering with Fox Networks Group Global Marketing for their spring Industry 101 course, working with the marketing team to develop promos for new series.
