BOSTON, MA, October 15, 2014 /3BL Media/ –  Common Impact is offering free one-hour consulting sessions to companies and nonprofit organizations looking to learn more about and build skills-based volunteering programs during Pro Bono Week 2014 (October 19-25). Common Impact provides pro bono program-design consulting to companies and nonprofits looking to build and expand skills-based volunteer programs

Common Impact is a nationally-recognized nonprofit that works to build a society in which individuals and businesses invest their unique talents towards a shared purpose: strengthening the local communities where we live and work. The organization, a pioneer in skills-based volunteerism, uses proven models to connect corporate employees to nonprofit organizations in tackling the greatest societal challenges our communities face. The common purpose of these connections is to deliver real value to companies, nonprofits and communities through innovations in community engagement, and ultimately to address deeply rooted and complex social challenges.

“In the past few years we have seen a remarkable increase in the number of companies who know that skills-based volunteering programs are a way to realize their complex goals around employee engagement, leadership development and effective community investment,” noted Common Impact CEO Danielle Holly. “The question is no longer, ‘Should I offer a skills-based program?’ but ‘How do I make it work?’”

Holly adds, “Clients like Fidelity, State Street, Charles Schwab and others look to Common Impact for guidance in creating skilled volunteering programs that are truly unique and effective within their culture, that leverage and build their employee’s core talents and that amplify the investments they’re making in their communities.”

Since 2000, Common Impact has been designing customized programs that develop the leadership and functional skills of corporate employees at any stage in their careers, while addressing critical societal needs. We are thrilled to be participating in Pro Bono Week, and are eager to share the expertise, experiences, and resources that we’ve developed over the past 14 years with organizations that are building and expanding their skills-based strategies” added Ms. Holly.
