Booz Allen Hamilton Board Member Gretchen McClain became the first woman to be inducted into the Utah Technology Council’s Hall of Fame on November 2. McClain was honored along with U.S. Senator Orrin G. Hatch and Will West for her “global contributions to the industry through new technology, innovation and leadership.”

McClain’s career as a business leader spans more than 25 years at the helm of Fortune 500 corporations and in government service, including serving as founding CEO of an S&P 500 global water technology company, Xylem Inc., and NASA’s Chief Director of the International Space Station.  She currently serves on the board of Booz Allen Hamilton.

In a video presented at the awards ceremony David Melcher, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association, said, “Gretchen McClain is a person who has proven herself as a great leader in government, a great leader in business, a great human being, and somebody who cares about making people’s lives better.”

Richard R. Nelson, president and CEO of the UTC, said of the honorees, “The track record of these leaders is unparalleled, and we are so excited to be inducting them into the 2015 Hall of Fame. These leaders have served in significant leadership roles in a variety of areas as pacesetters representing Utah’s outstanding technology accomplishments.”

The inductees were honored on November 2 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City at the UTC Hall of Fame Celebration, the annual gathering of the technology industry.
