February 11, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) today released an annual review of its Community Investment Council (CIC) initiative, launched in 2012.

HMH’s Community Investment Councils are designed to empower the Company's employees around the world to make a difference in their local communities. After a three-site pilot in 2011, HMH launched the CIC program in 10 major offices in 2012. Throughout the year, these teams of employee volunteers worked with their local colleagues to organize nearly 180 office-wide volunteer events and fundraisers, and award resources—including employee time, HMH products, and funds—to non-profits in their local area.
