Abbott plans to build a $230 million nutrition manufacturing plant in Jiaxing, China. The plant, which will open by the end of next year, will manufacture nutritional products for infants and elders in the Chinese market. The facility will be Abbott’s first fully integrated spray drying, blending, and packaging facility in China.

The Mary Kay Foundation has awarded $100,000 grants to each of 13 doctors and medical scientists, for a total donation of $1.3 million. The funds will support research into various forms of cancer that affect women.

Self-trackers are using new apps to record and log data about their lifestyles to improve health. The apps track alcohol consumption, moods, sleep quality, asthma symptoms, glucose, and physical activity. The monitoring helps self-trackers manage health problems such as diabetes and mental health.
